Best on-line shop for shotgun accessories

Hi all - just bought a 12 guage for home defense purposes. Where do you shop on-line for "gun stuff".

I need a cleaning kit, lubricant, snap-caps, Tru-ball slugs, etc. Also looking for any books/video for basic shotgun handling.

Any/all reccomendation for sites and products much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

(Yep; I'm a newbie !)

I just bought a couple of extra heavy duty magazine springs (+2) for my 870 (Wilson Combat / Scattergun Technologies) from midwayusa.com for less than $9 each.

Congrats on the new 870 variant. Lots of choices for shopping. My faves.

www.brownells.com/ This is THE source for parts. I even get spare trigger plates from there.

www.midwayusa.com/ Good source for all parts and ammo. Pricey but has a great selection

www.remington.com/ Not for shopping, but for learning about your 870

www.remingtonle.com/ Learn the differences between your 870 and the 870P

www.thehighroad.us/ Read the shotgun section. There is a wealth of knowledge there. Also accessories are sold there by members.

Welcome and congrats on the shotgun, good choice.

The 870 doesn't really take a lot of care and cleaning to keep it ticking, depending on how much you shoot. A cheap cleaning kit from WalMart and you should be good to go. It's a smooth bore after all. I do use Rem oil on the action when it needs it and run a rag with solvent through the bore then just a tad of oil to protect it.

As for those part and accessories, don't go overboard at first until you see what you want to trick it out with. I use mine for hunting only so didn't have to do anything. I use handguns for CC and home defense, but there is nothing like a shotgun for ridding the house of varmints.
